Red Phalarope - Mallard Lake, Big Lake WMA, AR - 10/3-4/09

Hi All,

An inland Red Phalarope was found Saturday at Mallard Lake, Big Lake WMA, in Mississippi County Arkansas, and relocated on the 4th! The WMA is roughly 50 miles due north of Memphis, just west of Blytheville Arkansas, and not very far from the Mississippi River. The phalarope is quite possibly migrating southeastward towards the vicinity of the Georgia coast! Red Phalarope is accidental inland in Georgia!
