South Polar Skua (inshore) - Canaveral National Seashore FL - 9/10/09

Hi All,

A South Polar Skua was reported as seen close to shore on the 10th at Playalinda Beach at Canaveral National Seashore! This area has proven to be a great seawatch site in the past. On no doubt a very special day in November 1992, 2230 jaegers were counted, from shore, in this area! I am going to be checking out what numbers of jaegers are seen on average along this stretch of beach in Octobers and Novembers since the early 1990's as possible. Just seeing 50 jaegers from shore in one day, in the southeast, would be fantastic!
