Least Grebe - Yamato Scrub NA, Boca Raton FL - 9/15/09 - UPDATED

Hi All,

A Carribean vagrant Least Grebe has been reported this week from the Yamato Scrub Natural Area in Boca Raton Florida!

In 2008 after a long hiatus with no Least Grebes appearing in Florida (and there are not many of them in the records to start with), a pair of Least Grebes raised a family at the same site! The best dates I can find for the birds being at Yamato Scrub were from September 21st 2008 until February 17th 2009! Now it looks like at least maybe one of the birds from last year has returned!
